Our Central American Coffee Decaf Blend uses 100% Arabica beans sourced from several coffee-growing regions across Central America, an area known for producing coffees with balanced sweetness, smooth body, and clean flavour profiles. By selecting beans from multiple origins within the region, the blend maintains consistency while highlighting the natural character that Central American coffees are valued for.
The coffee is decaffeinated using the CO₂ (carbon dioxide) process, a method designed to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s original flavour compounds. In this process, green coffee beans are placed in a pressurised stainless-steel chamber where liquid carbon dioxide circulates through the beans and selectively binds to the caffeine molecules. The caffeine is then separated from the CO₂, allowing the carbon dioxide to be reused while leaving the flavour compounds largely intact.
